Having rigorous processes in place is critical when lives are at stake. GeoComm is a software company that combines supportive map data and location content into a consolidated service for 9-1-1 centers. This session will follow the journey of GeoComm’s Lean Manager working towards operational excellence.
First, they customized APQC's Process Classification Framework ® (PCF) to document work groups, processes, and work instructions. Next, they assessed the decentralized SharePoint environment that housed existing processes.
SharePoint permissions and organization were challenging, with limited team members having experience in how to organize, grant permissions, search, tag keywords, and co-locate documents in multiple locations without duplication. APQC’s PCF and Zavanta helped with all of these items. Once it was determined that SharePoint did not sufficiently support Lean Principles and needed to be replaced, GeoComm conducted a solution search before implementing Zavanta policy and procedure software.
Now that the program has been running for several years, we will spotlight key results, including streamlined onboarding and a stress-free SOC 2 audit.
